I'm so excited to introduce you guys to my friend and fellow missionary, Debbie!

Debbie has been one of my biggest supporters. She blogs at Tales of the Benedicts and has helped the causes we are involved in several times through donating and sponsoring on our blog.  Her comments are some of my favorite and I'm just so glad to know her!  Take a few minutes and read along as she tells us the story of when she went to Africa and try not to die over these adorable faces!

My whole life I have been obsessed with Africa. For as long as I can remember I had a great desire to visit Africa. I decided as a teenager that I was going to visit Africa one day. Even as a teenager I felt a calling to go there and I was not going to rest until I was able to go to this land that my heart longed for.

When I was about 21 I had the amazing opportunity to go to Africa. The church that I was attending sponsored a missionary couple in the country of Mozambique who run an orphanage. When I heard their story one Sunday I felt a strong calling that this is where God wanted me to go. I prayed and asked God to make a way for me to be able to go. Sure enough God opened the doors for me to be able to go. So I sat out on an adventure to Mozambique all by myself!

My two months in Africa were two of the best months of my life. I not only learned a lot about this people of Mozambique, but they taught me a lot about myself as well. One of the most memorable experiences I had happened one day when I was hanging out with some of the kids outside in the play area. One of the little boys grabbed my hand and said "let's go find Jesus." So we walked around the compound looking for Jesus. It was a sweet moment.

I have never been the same since my time in Africa. God showed me things and allowed me to experience things that I will never forget. My heart was forever changed and transformed. And the people of Mozambique will be forever branded on my heart.
