Something you may not know about me is that I love decorating and organizing parties.
This is the third I've been able to host in the past year (all for my sisters).
From the decor to the food, it's all a work of art in my mind.
There is little more satisfying than seeing a picture in your mind become reality.
It's simple and tangible.
So, for today, I thought I'd take you on a walk-through of my sister's owl-themed baby shower that I threw last week.
And hey, if you see something you like, I'd love for you to pin it!
For the bunting, I used the 8 piece bunting and a round scalloped shape from silhouette america.
I then tied individual bows and used glue dots to adhere.
Glue dots were my friend.
I don't know what it is about bunting, but I just feel like a baby shower isn't complete without it.
I'm sure I must have seen this on Pinterest or something, but I found the idea of using cupcake liners to cover a jar of pink lemonade to be pure genius!
I ordered owl candles as party favors (you can see one next to the canvas print below) and expected them to be much much larger, especially for the $2/piece price! I couldn't believe how tiny they were. So, to supplement, we bagged up some strawberry whoppers and I used the scalloped square from silhouette america to create a cute closure for each baggie.
The Canvas print was one of my baby shower gifts that I had made with the sonogram picture of my sister's baby's feet from Minimalist Ultrasound. Everyone loved how it turned out and customer service was fantastic.
My other sister made the diaper cake -- her first time ever -- and I think it turned out beautifully!
I'm so blessed to be able to celebrate another tiny addition to our family!
I can't wait to meet our sweet Mary-Ellis.
Pictured below are 4 generations of my family:
My sisters: Wendy (mommy-to-be), Kristina (new mom), and myself
My grandmother, nephew, and my mom.
Be sure to come back and read all about the aforementioned cake and some fresh ideas for baby shower games!
