Can we just talk about how much I LOVE when Wade is off from work?
It's a lot.

And y'all. We made the most of it last week.

To get to know our new city a bit more, I searched some local trails and found Stone Cuts in Monte Sano State Park.  The pictures looked amazing and it was classified as pretty easy/family friendly. We thought it would be the perfect place for a hike and a picnic.
And it didn't disappoint!

So, we packed up some subs and set out on some unknown trails.

Y'all. It was gorgeous.

Local Tip: get a trail map!  We figured it out, but were pretty much guessing, at least at first.  It was a little difficult to find the right starting point but we did. Start on the South Plateau Trail, cross the road, and get onto the Sinks trail. From there you'll come upon the Stone Cuts Trail, which is which is just unbelievable. After some exploring, finding some rocks to picnic on, and taking lots of photos, continue onward on the Stone Cuts trail until you connect to the Sinks trail again. From there, there are signs to lead you back to the trail head. It's a loop trail, which I loved because the sights were always new and exciting.

It took us about 2-3 hours, taking our time in the Stone Cuts. There are some ups coming out, but nothing too difficult. Definitely wear hiking shoes. And watch out for mountain bikers.
