"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old earth had disappeared... I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, 'Look, God's home is now among His people! He will live with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever!' And the one sitting on the throne said,
'Look, I am making everything new!'
And then He said to me, 'Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.'" - Rev. 21:1-5

You guys, if this verse doesn't encourage us to get excited about the new life awaiting us, I don't know what will!  We see all throughout scripture where God makes things -- makes people -- new. He changes their hearts, and often times, He changes their names.

I know for me, personally, God's changing is never ceasing. Even today, I'm different than the person I was the day before.  And that's the way it should be -- ever growing, ever-more changed by His presence in our lives.

Today, Kerry at My Life, His Mission & I are inviting you to discover your new name in Jesus. Maybe it's a name He gave you when you finally surrendered your life to Him. Maybe it's a name He gave you this morning when you woke with a new peace or understanding of His will. Maybe you're still waiting for that new name to be given.   If so, share that too.

We believe this is something that is constantly changing. In fact, had I written this post a week ago, a month ago, a year ago, my answer would have been completely different.  That's why we plan on opening this topic up several times throughout the year. What a great way for us to document this journey He has us on, am I right?

We would love for you to join us. Simply write up a post with your "old name," "new name," and what God's done in your life to give that name to You. Then, link that post up here or with Kerry (these blogs will be interlinked) and visit some of the other participants and read what God's been doing in their lives as well. Here's the original prompt & song that inspired us.

Here we go:
Recently, God has been teaching me to really see Him.  To stop seeing myself so much. To stop being blind to His work around me. He has given me the ability to see His work in others as well, and is teaching me that, when Christ is in you, He can't help but be seen.  And He has been teaching me to see the truth in the face of lies. Satan is a tricky beast. He's a liar, a thief, and a destroyer. His lies often sound so much like the truth that we don't even notice. He's cunning. And he's dangerous.

It's been an incredible season, this new see-ing. And all the while I know there are still things I am blind to! Which is kind of incredibly mind-blowing.  There is so much God to be seen.  My prayer has been for God to show me. I want to see everything. I'm tired of missing it because I'm too busy looking the other direction.

You guys. I'm so excited to read your new names.  I just know this if going to be an incredible day. I believe that God is going to teach me even more through how He's been changing and working in you, too. This linkup is open until the 12th so if you're here and you haven't written a post on this yet, you still can!  I promise you that Kerry & I will read every single one that links up.  And we can't wait :)
