For the past few weeks, I've been soaking up as much summer-time fun as I can get.
Somehow, knowing that it's the last one I'll be spending here for a while (unless God sends us back, of course) enhances my appreciation of the sights and sounds of Alabama Summer-Time: sunshine peeking over the edge of a field, grapes that aren't quite finished growing, berries on the vine, the amazing feeling of jumping into a swimming pool of cool water, eating hotdogs and hamburgers in a foldup chair on the lawn, fireflies swarming, tire swinging, kayaking...
Oh yeah, and my three curly-haired nieces being in town didn't hurt either.
Sweet Home Alabama, indeed.
