"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"

Many of these kids, I have known throughout their childhood. It's such a awe-inspiring thought -- I get to be part of their story. I'm so not worthy of that! One day, they will look back on their lives and I'll be there, in their memories. Just like they are in mine. I'm so thankful to God for allowing me that gift. But my hope is that I'll use my time with them wisely. I hope to pour into them with Christ's love and truth. I hope for our relationships to be Gospel-filled. I hope for God to change me and mold me and make me more like Him during this new venture because that's the only way any of those other hopes will be possible. If they only see ME and know ME, what good does that do? Not much, I can tell you that. They don't need ME. They need HIM. I NEED HIM!
Lord, create in us community that is founded and surrounded by You. May you be the center of our relationships, and may you be glorified above all.
This post was inspired by my friend Miranda (new to the blogging community but a friend for years) and her post on The Continuous Battle with Self.
