I write this initially for the women who attended the Influence Conference alongside me,
but also for all believers who have ever been filled, restored, and changed by the Holy Spirit.

There I stood, full to the brim with solid teaching, fresh community, and way too much starbucks in a room full of like-minded women, lifting our voices together in praise to the Lord.

Together we sang

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship.

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
This seed I received I will sew

- Dessert Song, Hillsong United

I paused. What a powerful verse.

I know I'm filled to be emptied again.

I had been filled. Really filled. And gosh I needed that filling. Moving our lives to Mexico just a few weeks prior had been a draining event. Both physically, and emotionally. It was hard.

Throughout the weekend of the Influence Conference, I found myself thanking the Lord again and again for giving me rest while I was there..

I know I'm filled to be emptied again.
This seed I received I will sew.

That's the point, isn't it? The point of being filled? To be emptied again.

God doesn't teach us and fill us and give us good things so that we can store it all up, only to be seen and treasured by ourselves. No, He commissions us. He brings us in, all emptied out, fills us up with rest and restoration, and then sends out out again to be poured out as a drink offering for His glory.

As we sang that final line
This seed I received I will sew
I felt challenged. Challenged to take all of these good things, and pass them on in my own mission field. And that challenge is for all of us. Are you sewing that seed in your home? Into your children? Into your college roommates? Into your co-workers, and the poor, and to the lost?

With whom and where do you have influence? Because you do have it. Write down those places and those people and begin to pray for obedience. Ask the Lord to remind you daily of your mission field and go out and sew the seed of gospel truth -- that He loves us all and died for us all and cares for us all.

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God's condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son wile we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
