There is a new coffee shop and bakery in McAllen and it is the most adorable place I've ever seen! Chelsea and I went while she was in town and it couldn't have worked out more perfectly that she matched the decor to a "T" ;)

The owners at Birdie Bakery were more than happy to allow me to take some pictures (how could I not?) They allow guests to rent out the space for showers and teas and other events, so if you're a local, I highly recommend it! They serve breakfast and coffees and an assortment of desserts. Perfection.

Those are their menus! Adorable, right?

It felt like a grown up doll house (and they even have a real life-sized doll house in the back for children to play in!) I'm thinking I've found my new blog spot for those times when I need a change of scenery.

Next we went down the road to the Vintage Room, a quaint little consignment/antique shop that I am now obsessed with! They also produce a wedding magazine and allow brides to use their shop for their bridal portraits. I saw a few of them and they were gorgeous! And did I mention the assortment of vintage wedding dresses they have? (insert googley eyed emoji here!)

You guys, I seriously didn't know McAllen had such beautiful and unique places. Let alone the fact that they are literally a few blocks from our house! (I need to get out more!) I can't wait to explore the area even more.  I love showing off those secret spots that make a city so unique. These are two places I will definitely take any and all (female) visitors to in the future! (not that I need an excuse to go back.) Have you ever discovered hidden treasures in your city that you had no idea existed?
